Business Grants in Australia (2020)

Government Grants for business

Wage subsidy now open

Trainees and apprentices who are either currently employed or formally employed as of October 5th 2020 will have half their wages paid by taxpayers for 12 months.

Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg estimates this will deliver 100,000 jobs.

The scheme will be in place for the next year and comes at a cost of $1.2 billion.

It is important to note that this scheme is not limited to apprentices. An existing staff member can simply enrol in a qualification, even though they already have a qualification and the employer is eligible to receive half of the wages paid.
